Just finished "Absalom, Absalom" and it is the worst book I have ever read. Convoluted, uninteresting story, dreary, unpleasant, unbelievable dialogue, unlikable characters. Must have been some kind of strange writing experience. Only other reading of Faulkner was "A Rose for Emily" so maybe it is unfair based on this limited experience to through my vote strongly to Hemingway.
