My name is Lizzie and I am a 39 year old budding business-woman. I'm currently working 3 jobs as I prepare with a partner to open our own cake-decorating business. As it is I have little current time to read, as a result I find myself re-reading my old favorites!! And re-reading and re-reading, etc., etc., etc.
I joined book talk because I was very disappointed to have missed a book discussion on my favorite book of all time, Jane Eyre. The discussion was at a library but I just happened to have been working that day! I was very interested in finding out what other people thought of my favorite hero and heroine, their relationships and that period of time in history!
I also enjoy spending time with my neices and nephews who tragically don't 'like to read'! Additionally I play in several coed and women's volleyball leagues. Looking forward to discussing my old favorites, which are books that I have been reading since my teens!

Re: This is Lizzie and I LOVE to read!!!!
Hi lizzie. I was thinking about your comment on Jane Eyre, and a couple of ideas came to mind. One is that you might want to do a search for "jane eyre" to see what others have posted about the book. There is a search link in the navigation bar at the top of each page (right next to the FAQ link), and when I searched "jane eyre" I got 76 results. Some of these were simply the title being listed as a favorite book, but others were from discussions about the book that might interest you. I'll add the link to the search results below, but if that doesn't work, just click on the search link and conduct the search yourself.lizzie19701 wrote:I joined book talk because I was very disappointed to have missed a book discussion on my favorite book of all time, Jane Eyre. The other idea would be to start your own topic and title it something like, "Lovers of Jane Eyre," or just "Jane Eyre." You never know, there may be dozens of folks out there who would like to participate in a discussion about the book.
In any case, welcome to Booktalk, and here's that link to the search results page:

Money is a lousy way of keeping score.

Welcome Lizzie. Congrats on your new business - that certainly takes a lot of courage! I love audio books - they're great for a busy lifestyle. I listen to them on the way to and from work and also when I excercise - I'm able to "read" a lot of books I wouldn't otherwise have time for.
