Hello there,
My name's actually Dani but I thought it would be fitting to make my username one of my favorite characters, Ender, from Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. The place I call home is in the United States.
I'm big into preserving memories so documenting life through video, photographs, and letters is something I'd consider less of a hobby and more of a lifestyle. Avid reader, persistent doodler, climber of rocks, and music enthusiast am I.
I thoroughly enjoy a wide variety of books, mostly fiction of the science and fantasy realm.
I found this place through the ever informative Google.
I have great hopes for wonderful discussion!

Re: Getting Familiar
Hello Dani, welcome to booktalk. Do you scrapbook? I've dabbled, but I can't quite commit myself to the project. I wish I could though. Hope you enjoy it here.
Re: Getting Familiar
I attempted scrap booking some time ago but I find it easier just to tape or paste momentos to books I designate for words and findings. I'm aware these sound similar, but there is a distinction in my mind
Also, I love the Great Gatsby. Brilliant.

Re: Getting Familiar
Hi Dani and welcome,
I also enjoy documenting memories, and love music, and collect local language songs and videos of village life from my home in Gambia. This is one of my favourites, it is in Jola, but I also have some Fula, and many Mandinka songs on my Youtube site

Re: Getting Familiar
Hi Dani. Welcome! I didn’t care much for the Great Gatsby until I was much older and had joined this forum, possibly because I just didn’t take the time to enjoy the lyricism of the language. But between Shmoop and this forum, I’ve grown to love it. Here’s a thread that I gained a lot from and you might enjoy as well: http://www.booktalk.org/the-great-gatsb ... t7241.html.
