Re: Am I an athiest?
I don't think I know everything. If I did I wouldn't be suffering in Pre-Algebra! My intellectual life is over? No clue what that means, but I'm assuming something to do with thinking. I'm not going to look back on this and say, "Wow, why didn't I just pass over that post? Why didn't I just let them make fun of MY God? Yeah, right. I'm like my Mother and Aunt when it comes to religion, though they are better arguers than me. I don't rest my argument easily. Sometimes not at all. Ha, that's making y'all feel real great. That pic above me is so wrong. If not for my mom and my bio dad that never see's me, I wouldn't be here. If not for God I wouldn't be here. I need my mom and step-dad's help. Yeah, I am fighting Satan. Everyday. I won't give up. Not until y'all respect my God. Won't quit. But I have all the time in the world. I'm 12, remember? No job, nope. I can see this will be some fun years!

Re: Am I an athiest?
Katelyn, you might recall, I pointed out to you that humans share 98% of our genes with apes. If you want to understand how this can be, please watch the ten minute video below. You should find it easy to follow. Understanding how humans evolved over millions of years to our present ability to use tools and language is among the most beautiful and inspiring true stories that should fill you with wonder at the complex reality of the universe. Instead you say "No statistics for me please, I prefer Dark Age lies". Your arrogance is breathtaking. When you grow up you will look back on this conversation and shake your head in disbelief at your misplaced confidence in false teachings.

Katelyn, that picture of Santa. What is says at the bottom is basically that Santa isn't real and neither is Jesus, they are both tall tales from adults.

@ interbane, you know, I realized that. But, I'm saying Santa isn't real. But yet parents tell their kids about him, and then tell their kids about Jesus. I was making a point of hypocrisy. @ Robert Tulip, I will not watch anything about evolution. I know how the devil works. He will plant that in my mind and want me to doubt God. That is not happening. God bless.

I agree with Katelyn. We should never allow facts to get in the way of our faith. It is better to completely avoid all contact with the facts.
God bless you all.

Katelyn, what's to lose? Are you afraid that if you really take a look at it then you will find faults in your current belief system?I will not watch anything about evolution. I know how the devil works. He will plant that in my mind and want me to doubt God. That is not happening. God bless.
Don't you think that means you already know it's faulty? Why don't you want to improve yourself? You know the answers are literally at your fingertips. Do something about it.
In the absence of God, I found Man.

Are you pushing your own short comings on us and safely hating them from a distance?
Is this the virtue of faith? To never change your mind: especially when you should?
Young Earth Creationists take offense at the idea that we have a common heritage with other animals. Why is being the descendant of a mud golem any better?

Re: Am I an athiest?
No, I am not. It's also the fact that my mother would kill me if I watched something like that. Not literary, but you know. Thank you Chris. Besides, they aren't facts. Now, I'm not going to let you make me mad. I just got a letter from a poem person, and I am a Semi-finalist for a prize, and they want to publish my poem in Stars In The Heart. I think that's what it's called. Good day and God bless.

Re: Am I an athiest?
Oh, and Tulip? I just realized you said 'false teaching'. They will never be false. Never. Oh, I also have another thing for you to prove to me. If the earth was millions of billions years old, why hasn't it crumbled? Earth, as I'm sure you well know, is a very fragile place. It wouldn't be able to stand astroids and dinosaurs and people tearing it up, piece by piece. I don't think you can prove that to me, either. No video's, no quotes. I only talk to people, not parrots.

Re: Am I an athiest?
Katelyn, most people who follow the Bible don't take its teachings literally. For example the Bible's statement that "the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved" was once taken literally. It was believed that the planets and sun revolved around a fixed earth. This geocentric model has shown to be false and we now know through scientific observations that the earth and other planets revolve around the sun (heliocentric model) and actually our entire solar system is moving through space.
Creationists interpret the Bible as saying the earth is about 6,000 years old or so, but scientific evidence shows the earth to be about 4.5 billion years old. A 6,000-year-old earth actually makes no sense in face of a vast amount of evidence—geological formations, dinosaur fossils, etc. The denial of evolution, likewise, is based on the belief that the Bible is literally true.
And that's the problem with a literal interpretation of the Bible is that it contradicts so much of what we know about the world. Those who insist on believing a literal interpretation of the Bible must forever rationalize anything that contradicts it. Creationists have no problem with science that doesn't contradict the Bible. It's only the science that contradicts the literal Bible that creationists have a problem with. Creationists are starting with a fixed belief and anything that contradicts it is proclaimed to be false.
Rational people are open to new ideas because they don't have a fixed point of reference like a literal Bible. Therefore, they can be open to new evidence. That's why people don't believe in a flat earth or a geocentric solar system any more.
It's likely that your belief in a literal Bible is the result of indoctrination by the elders in your life, probably your parents. I'm afraid that if this is the path you've embarked on at age 12, you're in for a lifetime of rationalizing. Unless you are willing to confront this false belief in a literal Bible, you are going to be the equivalent of a child who holds his hands over his ears and says, "I can't hear you, I can't hear you."
