Have given up on Pynchon's Bleeding Edge after 150 pages. He truly irritates me.
Now reading Close to The Machine by Ellen Ullman. It is truly amazing -- genuine keeper!

I'm reading All Souls by Javier Marias. There is an introduction by the fabulous John Banville as well.

Just started the Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy by Laurence Sterne. It was a little hard to get into but after reading a few reviews I understand the point a little bit, before I was just aimlessly reading, not sure where the story was heading but I must say it's more enjoyable now.

Just finished The Hammer and The Blade by Paul S Kemp. Good read, great pacing, and some great humorous interaction between the main characters makes you really believe they exist whether or not you're reading about them. I love authors who can pull that off!

Re: What are you currently reading?
Nearing the end of Vineland by Thomas Pynchon.
Much better than I expected -- an actually coherent story from beginning to end, compared to other of his works that I have sampled. The same shtick, though: the good-guy counterculture protesters against the big-bad demented Government types. Not bad at all if you can wade through the political slant.
