I loved the books. They're easily in my Top 10.
They were geared towards a younger crowd and there was a lot to be gained from that point of view, but the maturity of the issues the character's faced I think would make them appealing to the adult community as well. Argueably more so, as a deeper understanding of the character's hardships would be achieved with more life experience

I've read the whole trilogy, but before I comment wanted to make sure if thread is allowing spoilers or not. Don't want to ruin anything for anyone.
