For pleasure, I tend to read "light" classics (or pulp noir). Right now I'm reading The Sun Also Rises by some guy named Hemmingway.

The River Sea: The Amazon by Marshall De Bruhl Has a terrific historical summary for in introduction, followed by chronologically ordered chapters. I am pondering going on a trip with a group this coming January. (If funds permit)

Recieved year of the flood for Christmas from my son, have not read it yet! Loved Oryx and Crake, just found out this is a sequal/prequal? so it should be great! How are you finding it? :)
