Only those become weary of angling who bring nothing to it but the idea of catching fish.

Thank you Suzanne!

Penelope I've met his family before and they love me. I had lunch with him mom yesterday
The problem is he is a commitment phobe. He keeps saying stuff like "Well we're just dating so I'm not sure we need to spending holidays together" and "Why move in together? Isn't it nice having our own spaces". Five years I've been dealing with this! The Thanksgiving invite is a big step for him.

Re: What Made Today Good
Olivia, perhaps you should show him Kahlil Gibran's advice on marriage? I find all Gibran's advice admirable and helpful.
On Marriage
Kahlil Gibran
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
See, my advice on how to sustain a long and happy marriage is - Avoid One Another!![Laughing ](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Re: What Made Today Good
Olivia, I hope all goes well for you this holiday season. Things seem to work out for the best; my loving and patient wife and i recently celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary (shooting for 50), so we must be doing something right.

Re: What Made Today Good
Cattleman, We celebrated our 48th in October - I was 18 when we got married. More good luck than good management! ![Wink ](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
