The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb

Unread post

I've been listening to the audio book of Melanie Benjamins "The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb". It is falling short of what I call good writing. Of course hearing someone else read it makes all the difference one way or another and in this case not so helpful. The story rambles and I'm thinking that maybe there is not enough of a story to write about the famous Mercy Lavinia and her husband Tom Thumb. How they came to fame has some merit in the story and I became captivated by "Vinnies" little sister Minnie, a childlike personality who was considered in her time to be the smallest woman in the world although short lived by her death. All in all I'm finding it hard to listen to "Vinnie" ramble on.
