Hello there! I am a female from Egypt. I'm actually learning English online. I developed a passion for reading. I love reading stories. I read "As a thief in the night". It took me a month to finish it. I found out about this forum by searching Google.

Hello chris. Yes, I live IN Egypt. Well, things are going fine for me here. You know, we had those days when we were doing nothing but sitting home and watching the news. Watching those people on TV with guns that was the most scary thing that ever happened. This doesn't happen here usually. Brotherhood trying to make some troubles here and there but we've got the situation under control. You don't believe it was a military coup, do you? because I don't trust the news anymore. anyway, I hate politics. lol

Sorry for late replay. No. Absolutely not. We have a temporary civilian president and a temporary government. The military took some steps when they found that the Brotherhood regime was very stubborn and when the millions protested in the streets against the brotherhood.

It is a revolution not a military coup.

I understand this is revolution but the revolution was empowered and enabled by a military coup. The military ousted Morsi so the military coup came first and the revolution came next. I'm sure there was a revolution brewing beneath the surface before the military got rid of Morsi, but from my perspective the real revolution only happened when it did because the military stepped in and removed the cancer.

Things are chaotic in Egypt, from what I see on the news, so I will not be surprised if it takes a while for her to come back and answer our questions.

I sure would love to go see the pyramids and other ancient architecture and artifacts in Egypt. Someday...

we almost took a side trip to Giza when visiting Istanbul, but there was so much to see and do in Turkey. I will have to make due with my brother's pictures of his trip. I think tourism will take a long time to rebound in Egypt. It is shocking to see such a seemingly stable vibrant country in so much turmoil. I wish all Egyptians well and safety.
