I am a writer in Maryland. I love all things reading/writing related. I just published a novel, Receive Me Falling, in March. In it a woman from the present day inherits an abandoned Caribbean sugar plantation whose ghosts won't let her rest until their secrets are uncovered. I'm currently in the research and early drafting stage of a novel set during the Depression.

My favorite writers are A. S. Byatt, Jane Austen, Margaret Atwood, Tracy Chevalier, Anne Rice, Ian McEwan, Diana Gabaldon, Philippa Gregory, and Toni Morrison. If I had to pick a favorite book, it would be Byatt's Possession.

I just joined and look forward to chatting with you.

Hello Erobuck.

I think I'll have to read Possession, because a few people have recommended it.

I always thought it was just a chick flick, untill one of my tutors at uni said he was studying the book for his thesis/phd. I was slightly embarassed after sniggering at his choice.

I'm glad to say I've matured greatly since then.
