I have always enjoyed this clip, and i think it reflects my position on miracles and magic very well.

Are you pushing your own short comings on us and safely hating them from a distance?
Is this the virtue of faith? To never change your mind: especially when you should?
Young Earth Creationists take offense at the idea that we have a common heritage with other animals. Why is being the descendant of a mud golem any better?

Re: A million causes, why do you think it was magic? This clips sums it up nicely.
I absolutely love that movie, Milla Jovovich, and Joan of Arc. This scene is absolutely amazing, where the "devil" or "God" or whatever hallucination Joan is having breaks down everything she believes in by breaking down every action she's ever taken and every "sign from God" that she was on the right track, trying to derail her in her hour of most desperate need, before the English burn her. Even though I obviously knew the outcome of this movie, I cried when they lit the stake.
This movie (and the true story it is based on) has been inspirational to me, not in the belief in God, but as an example of a driven woman who defied all odds to do what she needed to do, and an example of how dirty politics within religion can defile even the most prized and shining beacon of the true message of their so-called faith.
I would suggest anyone with any inkling of interest in Joan of Arc watch this movie (Luc Besson's The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc). It is well acted, well filmed, well written, and absolutely beautiful and moving. Milla Jovovich is also my favorite actress, and I haven't watched a Luc Besson movie I didn't like, so I may be biased, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.![Smile :)](https://www.booktalk.org/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Check out this video.
If they hadn't revealed the gag to these unsuspecting good samaritans, how many of them would have gone home thinking they had witnessed something supernatural?
was it an echo of the past?
Is it a vision of the future?
Are they seeing destiny?
no.

Belief in the supernatural is always negatve.
The least obvious is the simple binding of the mind. Blinding people to simple truths.
Misunderstandings about how the world work can be witnessed in many subtle signposts, but they also come in giant neon signs.

Give me a break. The only thing confusing about this clip is why, in this day of Punked the 'victims' aren't looking around for the hidden camera.johnson1010 wrote:http://www.wimp.com/grazedarm/

On the other hand, I once had a role in a miracle which is probably still being reported at family gatherings today.
It all started years ago when the Orlando International Airport was a POC terminal. One night my wife and I were there to pickup a friend of hers. He flight was delayed until the wee hours of the morning and the terminal was almost deserted. I was sitting on a bench and my wife had sat down in a wheel chair. Why? No reason. As the time for the arrival neared an obviously enebriated young man showed up holding a handful of flowers which appeared to have been picked by the side of the road. He told us that he was meeting his girlfriend and that they were going to try one more time to make it work. As he excitedly talked about their future together he kept glancing at my wife in the wheel chair. The flight landed and as the plane was taxiing to the terminal, my wife slapped her legs and said, "well, I guess it's time," and she stood up. The guy's eyes got big as saucers and I yelled, "it's a miracle." He grabbed the his necklace and said, "yeah, it must be this cross."
The moment was too good, and neither of us told him that my wife was not crippled. A few minutes later we saw the guy with his girlfriend both looking in our direction while he whispered and held the cross.
