I really love this movie, but the book/novel is so much scarier. Especially with my imagination!

I agree. That movie still freaks me out. Another movie would be "Pet Cemetery" ... creepy :(

IT absolutely terrified me as a child. It only stopped being scary after I realized Tim Curry was playing the clown. I watched it again after that and laughed the whole way through! "Silly Tim Curry!"

...unfortunately It was replaced with The Grudge... when they were doing the tribute to horror movies at the Oscars a little bit ago I had to cover my face during the entire thing because I knew they were gonna flash a clip of that movie. My mom took myself and my younger sister to see it in theaters and for a month (no joke) afterwards my little sister had my mom sleep with her in her room. I got over it pretty quick, but the thing that scared me the most wasn't the creepy little girl, it was that horrible noise she made!

I'm a pretty big horror movie fan, I love Saw and Hostel and all the gorey movies, but the once with quite, creepy things making weird noises don't sit well with me. I didn't think The Ring was scary at all though...

I can make the scary Grudge noise. I joke with my boyfriend that someday I'm going to call up my friends and make that sound when they answer, just to see what they'll do. I can be so mean.

This isn't a movie and is a really strange thing to be scared of, but when I was little I was terrified of the song "Purple People Eater." I really thought he was going to eat me, and for some ridiculous reason I have a horrible fear of being eaten.

The Purple People Eater
Well I saw the thing comin' out of the sky
It had the one long horn, one big eye
I commenced to shakin' and I said "ooh-eee"
It looks like a purple eater to me

It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
(One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater)
A one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me...

That reminds me of a Futurama quote (as most things do). If you're not a follower of the show it might not make sense, but I thought I'd share it nonetheless.

Fry, the main character, is asking his boss if he's ever heard of a hole in space with monsters in it. His boss replies,
"Son, there are only three real monsters: Dracula, Blacula, and Son of Kong.

Totally random. Love it.

"It" scared the crap out of me.

In general, pretty much any movie with puppets or clowns freaked me out as a kid.
Big bright accent, catty smile
Oscar Wilde confrontation

This is one of the first horror movies I saw, it terrified me as well!

I got nightmares from The Good Son, strangely enough. For the most part, I was pretty unperturbed by horror movies: my brother and I were obsessed with them, and rented almost all the horror flicks the local video rental had. Strangely enough, I have a difficult time watching them now.

I remember being afraid of the Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer movies as a teenager. I guess I was egocentric enough to believe that it someone was sitting around, thinking about how they'd like to kill me and all my friends.
